Round accent rugs: check the chair and door movement

An accent rug should fit the movement around it, not just an empty patch of floor. Mark the intended footprint and test the nearby door and chair positions. A circular rug and a rectangular mat create different edges to walk across.
Use a full-size outline
The round polyester mat is approximately 80 cm across. The grey rectangular option is 40 × 60 cm. Tape or paper can help visualize those shapes before buying, without assuming the styled room matches yours.

Check the backing and care
The listings do not provide a verified slip rating or universal suitability for every floor. Confirm the product requirements and choose any additional underlay only when appropriate for both surfaces.
Trace the chair’s movement
Move the chair through the positions used to sit down, stand up and reach nearby furniture. Compare that route with an 80 cm circle on the floor. A rug that fits an empty area can still sit inconveniently in the path of normal movement.
The buying decision
Choose the shape that works with the room’s movement before choosing the pattern.
